Modena October 2002

To check that there are no Fiat parts in a Maserati, Eric, Fons, Mike and Masa(rati) went on an educational visit to Modena and the Maserati factory. We took Mike's Beemer. Modena is very nice:

Mike & I ate white truffels at Fini's.

The next day we got a guided tour of the Maserati factory:

Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take any pictures inside. Mike almost got arrested when he tried to pick up a manifold. Plenty of Masers outside, all Spyders in my favourite colours too:

Red (Ferrari wannabee?):

Yellow (too conspicuous?):

Grey (makes it look like a BMW?):

Then we drove down to Maranello and had lunch in the Cavallo Nero:

Maranello is a town which seems to have its priorities right: nice engines everywhere and good food.

Unfortunately Mike's vegetables tasted as if they had been cooked on an exhaust pipe.

Then we ended up the day by testing how fast the Beemer would go: Mike got it up to 260 km/hr and the car was still accelerating. Next rv spring 2003 to pick up Eric's car!
